Week Four: A Fourth Of Female-Fronted

INTRODUCING:
Josh and I had dinner this weekend and he was talking to me about the Pixies concert he went to. Which I am jealous, but I wasn't jealous enough to go and see them. I'm not as dedicated as he is to them. He told me also told me about Kim Deal's second band The Breeders. I was sure I had heard of them, and indeed, I found their song "Bang On" nicely placed in my iTunes library.

This playlist is based around their awesomeness.

A Fourth Of Female-Fronted:
"Bang On" by The Breeders: I love no one, and no one loves me.
"Barracuda" by Heart: Always an amazing song.
"Cherry Bomb" by The Runaways: First band of Joan Jett
"Gimme Shelter" by Patti Smith: Crazy cover of deliciousness. One of my favorite songs on Rock Band.
"Piece Of My Heart" by Janis Joplin: You cannot have a female-fronted rock band playlist without including the very best, Ms. Joplin.
"Nothing But A Miracle" by Diane Birch: Newer to the scene, but vocals that come straight from the gospel choir.
"My Best Dress" by Florence And The Machine: Making my world go round.
"Edge Of Seventeen" by Stevie Nicks: Reminds me of Joan Cusack and I aspire to be Stevie.
"Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) by Nancy Sinatra: 1000 times better on vinyl.
"Sea Of Love" by Cat Power: I'm drowning.
"Tears For Affairs" by Camera Obscura: Enjoy.
"Sentimental Heart" by She & Him: I'm obsessed with Deschanel.
"I Never" by Rilo Kiley: Vocals will blow your mind. Classic and quintessential.
"Ain't Never Been Cool" by Lucky Soul: I haven't, but thanks for making me feel better.
"Gigantic" by Pixies: Kim deal rocking the Pixies.

RECOMMEND:
Reading about Diane Birch and discovering her if you haven't already.
